Call for application for VIII Odessa International Summer Seminar “The International Security Agenda 2018: Deterrence, Arms Control and Nonproliferation”

OdCNP with the support of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority will organize the VIII Odessa International Summer Seminar “The International Security Agenda 2018: Deterrence, Arms Control and Nonproliferation”, which will be held in Odessa on July 27-28, 2018. The main aim of this Seminar – to increase the awareness of the young researchers in Ukraine and the nearby region on the current trends in the field of international security with the special attention to nuclear weapons policy, nonproliferation and nuclear security.

Main Topics of the Summer Seminar

  • Nuclear security and geopolitics;
  • Current nuclear policies of the United States & Russia;
  • The INF Treaty situation;
  • The JCPOA role for the NPT regime;
  • The EU nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament policy.

Eligibility

  • Graduate students of the universities of Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and Turkey (humanitarian and technical specialties);
  • Ph.D. students;
  • Young researchers (governmental & nongovernmental organizations, think- tanks and industries)

Travel expenses, accommodation and meals will be covered by organizers.
